NEW CHAIRMAN FOR RED ROSE STEAM SOCIETY LTD.

The Red Rose Steam Society, who are the leaseholders and custodians of the assets on site have gained a new Chairman.

Trevor Barton MBE has taken over the position to help drive the development of the site forward. Trevor took up his new position on the 1st March and is presently building a team, to take the vision for this magnificent site, forward into the 21st century.

Having been in the Police for 32 years finishing at the rank of Chief Superintendent, and then 16 in the private security sector, Trevor considers that in his new role as a full time volunteer in his community, he can help the organisations he is involved with develop. Trevor is here to help not with money but with advice gained from 40 years in the voluntary sector. Never thinking that a volunteer is an amateur.

He was awarded the MBE for voluntary service to sport in the Borough of Wigan in 2009 and in 2017 was presented by Wigan Council with a star on the pavement outside Leigh Town Hall, for his services to the community.
